1. Who We Are

Calendar Reminder ("we", "us", "our") is a Google Workspace add-on that sends automated appointment reminders via SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, and email to event attendees in Google Calendar. Our service is operated by Papercode (papercode.co).

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data You Provide

Google account identity — your email address and name, used to identify your account.
Phone numbers — attendee phone numbers you enter in the add-on for SMS, WhatsApp, or Telegram reminders.
Message templates — the custom reminder text you configure.
Reminder preferences — timing, platform selection, and notification settings.

2.2 Data From Google Calendar

Event titles, dates, times, locations, and conference links.
Attendee email addresses and display names from events you configure reminders for.

2.3 Data Collected Automatically

Message delivery status (delivered, failed, read) from messaging providers.
Attendee confirmation responses (confirmed/cancelled) when the confirmation link is used.
Usage logs for debugging and service improvement (no message content is stored in logs).

3. How We Use Your Data

To send reminder messages to attendees via your selected channels.
To show delivery status and attendee responses in the add-on.
To manage your subscription and billing via Stripe.
To authenticate your account via Google.
To improve the service and diagnose technical issues.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third parties only as necessary to deliver the service:

Twilio — for SMS delivery. Recipient phone numbers and message text are transmitted to Twilio.
WhatsApp Business API — for WhatsApp messages. Recipient numbers and message text are transmitted.
Telegram Bot API — for Telegram messages.
Stripe — for subscription billing. We share your email; Stripe handles all payment data.
Google — we access your Google Calendar data via the Google Calendar API under the scopes you authorise during installation.

5. Google API Scopes

The add-on requests the following Google OAuth scopes:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events.readonly — to read event details.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events — to tag events with reminder status.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email — to identify your account.

Our use of data obtained from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy , including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Data Retention

Reminder records and delivery logs are retained for 12 months, then deleted.
Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 30 days after cancellation.
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).

7. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Phone numbers and personal data are stored encrypted at rest. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only.

8. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You have the right to:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Correction — update inaccurate data.
Deletion — request that we delete your account and all associated data.
Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@papercode.co. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Cookies

The marketing website uses Umami Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. The add-on itself does not use cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

The service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes via email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
